However, we found out there was a BIG Mardi Gras Parade downtown on Saturday, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and<\/span> almost everything would be closed for Mardi Gras on Tuesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">SO<\/mark><\/strong>&#8230;Monday we got out early to visit the 2 things we <strong>really<\/strong> wanted to see in Baton Rouge (and stopped for <strong>Po-Boys<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Gumbo<\/strong> for lunch):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#046969\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Louisiana Capitol<\/mark><\/strong>, the tallest in the country, observation deck on the 27th floor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">USS Kidd Veterans Museum<\/mark><\/strong>&#8230;the USS Kidd is the only vessel ever given official sanction in the history of the U.S. Navy to fly&nbsp;a pirate flag, the Skull &amp; Crossbones.&nbsp; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery
