{"id":12321,"date":"2024-10-26T08:16:57","date_gmt":"2024-10-26T15:16:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/streaming2nps.com\/?p=12321"},"modified":"2024-10-29T13:38:01","modified_gmt":"2024-10-29T20:38:01","slug":"st-louis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/streaming2nps.com\/?p=12321","title":{"rendered":"St. Louis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#090d8e\"><strong>Leaving the Great River Road for Route 66<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We got some chores done (i.e. 115K mile oil change for <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#c10707\" class=\"has-inline-color\">The Beast<\/mark><\/strong>) and&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visited <mark style=\"font-weight: bold; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); color: rgb(29, 106, 6);\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>1<\/strong><\/mark> new <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">National Park Site<\/mark><\/strong> and <mark style=\"font-weight: bold; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); color: rgb(29, 106, 6);\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>1<\/strong><\/mark> revisit :<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Gateway Arch National Park<\/strong><\/mark> (<strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">#1<\/mark><\/strong>-Revisit), where we <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">finally<\/mark><\/strong> went up <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">in<\/mark><\/strong> the <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Gateway Arch<\/strong><\/mark> <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">and<\/mark><\/strong> visited the remodeled museum, with friends from St. Louis! We first visited in the fall of 2000, after 5:00, when things were all closed. Second visit was fall of 2016, when the Arch was closed for reconstruction, but we visited the Old Courthouse. Now the Old Courthouse is closed for reconstruction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>St. Genevieve National Historical Park<\/strong><\/mark> (#265), encompassed multiple sites across the town of Ste. Genevi\u00e8ve (3 owned by NPS, others private).  It was the first permanent European settlement in Missouri, established by 1750 by French Canadian settlers, drawn here by the rich agricultural land on the Mississippi. After the flood of 1785,&nbsp;the town relocated to higher ground ~3 miles to the northwest of its original site. The early French inspired buildings were Vertical Log Homes, fascinating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-delay=\"5\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_container swiper-container\"><ul class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_swiper-wrapper swiper-wrapper\"><li
