We camped at <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Tyler Bend<\/strong><\/mark>, near St. Joe, Arkansas, for 3 nights, our <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>6th<\/strong><\/mark> time <a href=\"https:\/\/streaming2nps.com\/?page_id=4364#Camping-at-National-Parks\">camping in a National Park<\/a>. We checked out a few places in the park around <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Tyler Bend<\/strong><\/mark> and <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Buffalo Point<\/strong><\/mark>, the 2 places along the river with an open Visitor Center. That included a visit to the <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Rush Historic District<\/strong><\/mark> (Ghost Town of Rush), where Zinc was mined from the 1880s to the 1930s. During World War I, it was the largest producer of zinc ore in Arkansas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-delay=\"5\" style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>International Dark Sky Park<\/strong><\/mark>&#8230;and&#8230;as they say&#8230;<strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Come for the River, Stay for the Stars! <\/mark><\/strong> We were here for the<strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> New Moon<\/mark><\/strong> on November 1, and it was our one clear night!  We saw LOTS of stars, Jupiter and Saturn, and the Milky Way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#090d8e\"><strong>Off for Fort Smith&#8230;in the Rain!<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>It rained all day yesterday, so we hung out in camp.  We actually put up the awning to keep the generator dry.  (No hookups here, but there is a nice bathhouse.) It continued to rain all night and hasn&#8217;t stopped yet.   The good news is, they really need the rain here.  The other &#8220;good news&#8221; is&#8230;we did NOT camp in the site across the street, but just &#8220;happened&#8221; to pick a &#8220;high spot&#8221;!  Now we&#8217;re waiting to see if the &#8220;lull&#8221; around 11:00 materializes, to finish packing up \/ hitching up and get on the road.
