Mark <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">finally<\/mark><\/strong> made contact 2 weeks ago&#8230;<strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">AND<\/mark><\/strong>&#8230;Ernie and his wife Deb were around (less than 2 miles from the campground we&#8217;re in)! <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">SO<\/mark><\/strong>&#8230;we just spent the last 2<sup>1<\/sup>\/<sub>2<\/sub> days having <br>We had fun with Ernie and Deb&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Walking around <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Kanapaha Botanical Gardens<\/mark><\/strong> in Gainesville<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Driving around the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">University of Florida<\/mark><\/strong> in Gainesville (Ernie is an alum, Deb worked there for years)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lunching in and walking around the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">historic town of Micanopy<\/mark><\/strong>, Florida\u2019s oldest inland town (settled 1821)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visiting <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park<\/strong><\/mark>, site of Florida\u2019s largest Civil War battle, Feb. 20, 1864.  Casualties were 5,000 of 10,000 soldiers in a 4 hour battle.  It&#8217;s also Florida&#8217;s first historic site\/state park (1929) and another CCC site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visiting and grabbing lunch at our <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\">1st Ever<\/mark> <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#730202\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Buc-ee&#8217;s<\/mark><\/mark> <\/strong>(in St. Augustine)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walking around <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Camp Blanding Memorial Park<\/mark><\/strong> in Starke, just outside Camp Blanding Joint Training Center for the Florida National Guard.  It has display of tanks, aircraft, and armored vehicles, and memorials for Florida National Guard units.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\"
