Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

First Lizzy<\/span><\/em> Trip<\/strong> of “the season”…18 days, mostly meandering north up the Oregon Coast<\/span><\/strong> on 101. We started with 2 days “high-tailing it” south on I-5 to reach our southern-most stop at Cape Blanco. This is the farthest south we’ve ever camped on the Oregon Coast and the only campground new to us on this trip!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Albany, OR<\/strong><\/strong>, just for a quick overnight, heading south<\/li>
  • Cape Blanco State Park<\/strong><\/strong>, spent a week in this beautiful park, a bit south of Bandon<\/li>
  • South Beach State Park<\/strong><\/strong>, another week spent just south of Newport and Yaquina Bay<\/li>
  • Nehalem Bay State Park<\/strong><\/strong>, a short, 3 day stop, near Manzanita, our favorite little Oregon seaside town<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Highlights<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We had no particular plans, other than to have a relaxing trip, with a little exploring, some hiking, and a lot of beach walking. We visited some of the towns near where we were camping: Port Orford (Battle Rock Park), Coos Bay, Old Town Bandon, Newport Historic Bayfront, and Manzanita and supported a few restaurants. We walked\/hiked ~70 miles<\/strong>, (capping it off with 9 miles at Nehalem Bay on the last day!) We visited 7 Lighthouse, 1 Aquarium, and did most of that walking\/hiking in 10 different parks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
