{"id":5873,"date":"2022-06-20T08:48:16","date_gmt":"2022-06-20T15:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/streaming2nps.com\/?p=5873"},"modified":"2024-02-09T20:32:50","modified_gmt":"2024-02-10T04:32:50","slug":"colorado-rockies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/streaming2nps.com\/?p=5873","title":{"rendered":"Colorado Rockies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#090d8e\"><strong>A week in the Colorado Rockies &amp; Front Range!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We stayed on the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Big Thompson River<\/mark><\/strong> (cover photo of the river right behind our campsite), just west of Loveland, 25 miles from Estes Park. We drove up Big Thompson River Canyon 3 days to explore <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Rocky Mountain National Park<\/mark><\/strong> (#177&#8230;1st new National Park in over 2 years). It was AWESOME!  We understand why it&#8217;s such a popular park.  We enjoyed driving the Trail Ridge Road, highest continuously paved road in North America. Driving above the tree line in Alpine Tundra was fascinating. We drove about every road we could; took a lot of little hikes (incl in the rain\/hail), around lakes, to waterfalls, etc.; listened to a few Ranger Talks; visited all 4 Visitor Centers and the Discovery Center; and saw <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">lots<\/span> of animals (see below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-autoplay=\"true\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Colorado State Capitol<\/mark><\/strong> (#12) and seeing a<strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#0a4277\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> Colorado Rockies Game at Coors Field<\/mark><\/strong> (#11). Gail got time to visit with old (<em>and brandy new<\/em>) friends in the area, and we had time just hanging on the Big Thompson River.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images
