{"id":5959,"date":"2022-07-08T09:30:06","date_gmt":"2022-07-08T16:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/streaming2nps.com\/?p=5959"},"modified":"2024-02-09T20:36:44","modified_gmt":"2024-02-10T04:36:44","slug":"on-to-idaho","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/streaming2nps.com\/?p=5959","title":{"rendered":"On to Idaho"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#090d8e\"><strong>Leaving Bonneville Salt Flats \/ Salt Lake City<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrived for one night in Wendover, UT\/NV yesterday, and were delighted to find that we arrived at <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> Historic Wendover Army Air Base<\/mark><\/strong> in time for the once-a-day tour! It was once the largest airbase in the world and was part of the Manhattan Project, as it&#8217;s where the Tibbets Team trained to drop the Fat Man &amp; Little Boy bombs in WWII.  And&#8230;they filmed parts of the movies <strong><em>Conair<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Independence Day<\/em><\/strong> here (and have the Airplane from <strong><em>Conair<\/em><\/strong>!)  Last stop in Utah, to see the <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);font-weight: bold; color: rgb(9, 13, 142);\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong style=\"\">Bonneville Salt Flats<\/strong><\/mark>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before that, we had 5 nights in Salt Lake City (well, Lizzy did&#8230;we left her one night to stay in Deer Mountain\/Park City with Gary, and old college friend).  We had 2 days exploring Park City &amp; the 2002 Olympic Park with Gary, a day trip to <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Timpanogos Cave National Monument<\/mark><\/strong> (#180) and Sundance Resort, and a lazy day with a visit to the<mark style=\"background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><font color=\"#090d8e\"><b> <\/b><\/font><\/mark><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#046969\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City<\/mark><\/strong> (#14).
