We had a little snow on Monday in Tombstone, and on the drive back to Bisbee, and on Lizzy upon our return. Just a little, but enough that Mark “should have<\/em>” shoveled the steps…they were ICY in the morning.
But the snow we woke up to this morning really confirms our official 1st time time<\/em> Camping in Snow!<\/mark><\/strong> SO…will we be able to take off for Willcox today?!?!? Looking good…it was 28o<\/sup> at 7:30, and it’s 34o<\/sup> now at 9:45, with a couple of hours before we need to be off (it is snowing just a bit right now, but the roads look clear.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The campground\/big round parking lot was the Bisbee High School Baseball Field, built by the Bisbee Queen Mine for the community, before the Lavender Pit Mine was started. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. When repairing the underground pipes, they found large deposits of turquoise. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Saturday we went to Sierra Vista to visit the Fort Huachuca Museum<\/mark><\/strong> and the Military Intelligence Museum<\/mark><\/strong>. Fascinating. They’re both on the Fort Huachuca Army Installation<\/mark><\/strong>. It’s beautiful there in the mountains. We had to go through Army Security to get a guest pass to get on base! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sunday we spent a few hours wandering around Old Bisbee, having coffee, window shopping, actually buying Killer Bee Honey and pastries, and walking up<\/span><\/strong> to the Muheim Heritage House Museum, which was closed. Then back to Lizzy for our 2-person Superbowl Party<\/strong> (i.e. excuse to have loaded nachos for dinner).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Monday was Visit Tombstone Day!<\/mark><\/strong> We got there about noon and spent the early afternoon seeing just about everything at the OK Corral<\/a><\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
