AND…began “Nuclear” part of our “Nuclear New Mexico” Trip<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n

Starting day 4 in Albuquerque, and so far it’s only gone into the mid 40’s over <\/strong>night and hit the high 60’s during the day. A bit cooler forecast for today, but supposed to hit 70 tomorrow! TOASTY after the last few weeks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We got here on Sunday, from Carlsbad, after a stop in Roswell and visit to the International UFO Museum<\/mark><\/strong>. The 3 hours from Roswell here included ~2 hours of the most boring drive we’ve ever done, north on route 285 on straight road, almost flat, yellow grass & sagebrush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First day here, Mark visited the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History<\/mark> <\/strong>, while Gail visited our 34th Costco, in our 13th State. Going back to both, together<\/span>, today (as soon as this gets posted.) We visited Petroglyph National Monument<\/mark><\/strong> (#186) on Tuesday, hiking 6+ miles in the Volcanoes Day Use Area<\/mark><\/strong>, and then exploring the Petroglyphs in Piedras Marcadas Canyon<\/mark><\/strong> (hiking another 3- miles…a 9 mile hiking day)! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, we got a great docent tour of the Santa Fe 2926 Steam Engine<\/mark><\/strong>, at the New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society<\/mark><\/strong>. Fascinating! Later in the day (after lunch at a Laguna Burger, where Gail did try a Laguna Burger with green chiles on it, New Mexico style), we visited the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center<\/mark><\/strong>. WOW! Lots of history and Art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
