Didn&#8217;t make it to Hopewell Culture National Historical Park&#8230;next time (along with a whole lot of other places!)  But we did:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visit <mark style=\"font-weight: bold; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); color: rgb(29, 106, 6);\" class=\"has-inline-color\">3<\/mark> new <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">National Park Sites<\/mark><\/strong>:    <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park<\/mark><\/strong> (#201), which preserves and interprets the history and legacies of the Wright Brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar.  We made it to 4 of the&nbsp;6 units of the park:  Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center &amp; Wright Cycle Company, Paul Laurence Dunbar House Historic Site, Huffman Prairie Interpretive Center &amp; Wright Brothers Memorial, and Huffman Prairie Flying Field. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument<\/mark><\/strong> (#202), where we drove by the Charles Young House, undergoing a major renovation, and visited the temporary Visitor Center at the Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, OH, the oldest, free standing African American Seminary in the US. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/articles\/000\/plan-like-a-park-ranger-top-10-tips-for-visiting-george-washington-carver-nm.htm\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">William Howard Taft National Historic Site<\/mark><\/strong> (#203), where William Howard Taft was born and grew up, the only person to serve at President of the US and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.  Fascinating story.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-delay=\"5\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div Capitol<\/strong><\/mark>:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#046969\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Ohio State Capitol in Columbus<\/mark><\/strong> (#21), where we got the best (and longest) tour ever&#8230;from Richard Doll, a retired Ohio history teacher, turning 80 next week.  He&#8217;s been giving tours here for 24 years, at the suggestion of the only female speaker of the house at his retirement party! 0);color:#090d8e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Golden Lamb<\/mark><\/strong>, with Dave, an old RSE Friend of Mark&#8217;s, and his wife Sharon.  It was barely a mile from our campsite, and has a long history of hospitality. Have a busy 4 days till then!  Camping in Washington, PA 2 days&#8230;clean out Lizzy and store her for a month.  Then 2 days in Belle Vernon&#8230;visit Mark&#8217;s brothers and attend his (belated) 50th HS Reunion.
