And where did we start?  In Rodanthe on Hatteras Island, in the middle of the Outer Banks. SO&#8230;we realized we had better not return to the line <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">too<\/span> late!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We had a pleasant few hours on Ocracoke.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We got in the the return ferry line at 3:00 and we made it onto the 7:30 Ferry.<br>Thank goodness we had a very nice, late lunch before getting in line!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We spent most of our time visiting <mark style=\"font-weight: bold; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); color: rgb(29, 106, 6);\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>3<\/strong><\/mark> new <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">National Park Sites<\/mark><\/strong>:    <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Cape Hatteras National Seashore<\/strong><\/mark> (#220), shaped by the forces of water, wind, and storms the islands of the Outer Banks are ever changing, and much of them are encompassed in the National Park, including 3 lighthouses!  Spent 3 days visiting various sites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Fort Raleigh National Historic Site<\/mark><\/strong> (#221), protects and preserves known portions of England&#8217;s first New World settlements from 1584 to 1590 on Roanoke Island and the cultural heritage of the Native Americans, European Americans and African Americans who have lived on Roanoke Island.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1d6a06\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Wright Brothers National Memorial<\/mark><\/strong> (#222), in Kitty Hawk, where Wilbur and Orville Wright, after four years of scientific experimentation, achieved the first successful airplane flights on December 17, 1903.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-delay=\"5\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div
