We’ve got 2 Lizzy Campground Albums (pictures of every Campsite, before & since 2023…and a bit behind) and identified a few Campground Highlights:

Lizzy Campground/Campsites Highlights

Most Visited Campground!

TIP TAM RV Park @ 6 times & 56 nights in 2 years!
In Jackson, NJ, close enough to Mark’s Kids and Grandkids, it’s easy to visit. Close to a Costco and a good grocery store, and only 20 miles from our favorite Airstream place, Colonial Airstream. It’s our Go-To place for the Jersey Shore portions of our Camping Trips to visit Family in the Northeast.

Most Visited Campground – Runners Up!

Nehalem Bay State Park @ 6 times & 29 nights.
Near the cute little town of Manzanita, Oregon, a relatively easy days drive from home. We love hanging/hiking on 4 miles of Manzanita Beach, hiking the loop trail around the Airstrip, out the spit, into town. We’ve seen multiple deer and elk, on multiple visits and first flew a kite here, too!

Fort Stevens State Park @ 4 times & 26 nights.
At the mouth of the Columbia, in Oregon, really easy days drive. Site of the Wreck of the Peter Iredale, It’s also near Astoria and lots of Lewis & Clark & Clatsop history. We LOVE camping/visiting here and nearby:

  • 2 times & 8 nights at the KOA across the street (1 time/2 nights in a cabin)
  • 2 times & 6 nights at Cape Disappointment across the mouth of the Columbia in Washington.

Mesa/Apache Junction KOA @ 1 time, but 48 nights!
Apache Junction was where we were when Covid first hit and shut everything down. Extending a week at a time, we ended up staying ~7 weeks. We had a view of the Superstition Mountains, and we were there for Spring Cactus Blossoming!

Camping at National Parks!

When camping in a National Park, that means less driving to explore it!

Camping by/in sight of Rivers, Lakes, the Ocean

And that does NOT include the many times we’ve camped CLOSE to the water, but not actually in site of it…a LOT in Oregon Coast State Parks, where many Campgrounds are “just over the dunes” from the Pacific. Ventura RV Park in CA was also close to the Pacific, but not right on it.

Camping with Friends!

And sometimes, nearby Family / Friends come to visit!

How about “camping” in a driveway or back yard?

And…Camping in a Parking Lot!?!?!
