Ruby Beach in Olympics, approaching on the hike down,
from 2021 NW National Parks w Company

We’ve taken many trips around the Northwest, lots during “Pandemic Isolation.” Here are trips that included trips to the Washington Coast. It has been one of our favorite places for a Getaway, since our 2001 camping trip to Kalaloch. Adventures to Cape Disappointment overlap Adventures on the Columbia River.

Note: Pictures link to the associated Adventure Album.

Our 1st Visit to the Washington Coast was our 2001 Camping Trip to Kalaloch in Olympics National Park. In all our visits to the Olympics, we have had at least one visit to the Coast: Kalaloch, Ruby Beach, Beach 4, Rialto Beach, Beach 1 @ La Push.

A 3-week trip on the Pacific Coast of SW Washington & NW Oregon, and one stop inland, heading back north. Our 1st 2 stays were on the Washington Coast: Pacific Beach and Cape Disappointment State Parks.

A 3-week trip on the lower Columbia River and Pacific Coast. Our 2nd stop was a revisit to Cape Disappointment at the mouth of the Columbia, on the Washington side.

A short trip to the NW coast, starting with 4 days on Willapa Bay (close enough to the ocean, with fantastic tides) at Bay Center / Willapa Bay KOA.
