They have dry, scaly skin or bony plates and lay eggs on dry land.
Alligators & Crocodiles
We have seen most of our Alligators & all of our Crocodiles in Everglades National Park, and some Alligators elsewhere in Florida.
Turtles & Tortoises
Mostly Turtles and Tortoises are seen in the water. Like in Kono on Hawaii, or in the Everglades National Park.
Snakes
We mostly avoid Snakes!!! But did see one in the parking lot at Bighorn Canyon-Yellowtail Dam Visitor Center and one eating a mouse underneath the Airstream on the Big Thompson River in Loveland Colorado.
Lizards
We’ve seen a few, lots of places, sometimes a bit camouflaged!
Amphibians
Amphibians are Cold-Blooded Vertebrates (have a Backbone).
They have moist, slimy skin, no scales.
They start life in water with gills, then move to land with lungs.
