MLB Stadium Games Summary

We have been to Games in 14/30 MLB Stadiums Together, some just once, and a couple multiple times. (Gail has also been to a game (or 2) in St. Louis).

We’ve also been to Spring Training Games at 2.5 Stadiums

• Two Grapefruit League Stadiums, multiple times…Sarasota and Bradenton
• The .5 refers to our attempt to make it to a Cactus League Game in Tempe. It got rained out, just before other games got Covid-Canceled!

And we should include highlights of the 2016 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Cooperstown, New York.

#1 – Seattle Mariners @ Safeco Field / T-Mobile Park

• 2007 – vs Boston Red Sox for Gail’s Birthday with Michael, Lisa & Michael (7/24/2007)
• 2009 – vs New York Yankees with Katie-V & Jeff-V (8/15/09)
  ………………..AND…Griffey was back in Seattle!
• 2010 – vs Boston Red Sox for Gail’s Birthday (7/23/2010)
• 2012 – vs Boston Red Sox (9/3/12)
• 2012 – vs Oakland Athletics with Jeri-B (9/8/2012)
• 2019 – vs Texas Rangers, an AARP Event for Gail’s Bday (7/24/19)

#2 – Chicago Cubs @ Wrigley Field

• 2012 – vs Cincinnati Reds (8/09/12) Missed the end, due to Rain Delay
  (and Mark needing to work at Chicago AT&T next day)
  on 1st X-Country Trip West in the Prius

  on 1st X-Country Trip West in the Prius

#4 – Baltimore Orioles @ Camden Yards

• 2014 – vs New York Yankees, with Vera & Gary (9/12/14)
  on Road Trip to Baltimore & Pittsburgh

#5 – Pittsburgh Pirates @ PNC Park

• 2014 – 3 Day Series vs the Boston Red Sox, Pirates won all 3
  on Road Trip to Baltimore & Pittsburgh
  • Game 1 (9/17/14) with Jerome & his daughter
  • Game 2 (9/18/14) Date Night
  • Game 3 (9/19/14) with Brother Dave-V
• 2023 – Game against St. Louis

#6 – Philadelphia Phillies @ Citizen Bank Park

• 2017 – vs Pittsburgh Pirates (7/5/17)
  getting in local games while Mark still had the Jersey Shore house!

#7 – New York Mets @ Citi Field

• 2018 – vs Pittsburgh Pirates (6/25/18)
  getting in local games while Mark still had the Jersey Shore house!

#8 – New York Yankees @ Yankee Stadium

• 2018 – vs Boston Red Sox with Jeff-V & Sam (6/29/18)…Yankees won!
  getting in local games while Mark still had the Jersey Shore house!

#9 – Boston Red Sox @ Fenway Park

• 2018 – vs Tampa Bay Rays (8/19/18) … GREAT SEATS!!! right behind home plate,
  from Tricia’s Brother, while visiting Nicky in East Brookfield for his 88th birthday

#10 – Cleveland IndiansGuardians @ Progressive Field

• 2018 – vs Kansas City Royals (9/5/18) … GREAT SEATS!!! even though purchased last minute, on Lizzy’s 1st X-Country Trip

#11 – Colorado Rockies @ Coors Field

• 2022 – vs Cleveland Guardians (6/16/22) … GREAT SEATS!!! right behind home plate, on a very hot, sunny afternoon (hence hiking hats vs baseball caps), on Lizzy’s Trip to the Rockies and High Plains

#12 – Kansas City Royals @ Kauffman Stadium

• 2023 – vs Atlanta Braves (4/15/2023) … GREAT SEATS!!! just a bit up the first base side, on a cold, rainy afternoon (hence the rain coats & bulky layers), on our Prairie/Midwest Dash. There was a 2.5 hour Rain (and hail) Delay and it was a lopsided game, so we admit to leaving in the top of the 8th Inning, when the Braves blew it open. Final Score, 9-3.

#13 – Cincinnati Reds @ Great American Ball Park

• 2023 – vs Texas Rangers (4/26/2023) … GREAT SEATS!!! just a bit up the first base side, on a beautiful, sunny afternoon in the mid 60s, plenty warm in our sunny seats, on our Prairie/Midwest Dash. Game ended with a walk off home run, giving the Reds a Sweep!

#14 – Detroit Tigers @ Comerica Park

• 2024 – vs Cleveland Guardians (74/30/2024) … GREAT SEATS!!! just a bit up the first base side, on a hot with intermittently cloudy, sunny, rainy afternoon (hence the use of our recently acquired ponchos on Maid of the Mist), Great Lakes East. Game ended lop-sided, 5-0, Guardians.

MLB – 2016 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

On Gail’s birthday weekend, 2016, we attended the 2016 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Cooperstown, for Ken Griffey, Jr and Mike Piazza. Jeff & Sam joined us. To be clear, we attended to see Ken Griffey, Jr.:

• Jeff’s favorite baseball player
• Born in Mark’s hometown (Ken Griffey Sr was 2 years ahead of Mark in HS)
• 1st player to be inducted as a Seattle Mariner
