Sunset over the Wreck of the Peter Iredale,
from 2021 NW Coast Reprise

We’ve taken many trips around the Northwest, lots during “Pandemic Isolation.” Here are those that included trips to the Oregon Coast, which has become one of our favorite places for a Getaway. Adventures to the Oregon Coast at the mouth of the Columbia (several) overlap Adventures on the Columbia River.

Note: Pictures link to the associated Adventure Album.

Our first Lizzy trip to the Oregon Coast! A 3 week trip on the Pacific Coast of SW Washington & NW Oregon, heading back north inland, we had 3 stays on the Oregon Coast: Fort Stevens (home of the Wreck of the Peter Iredale), Nehalem Bay, and South Beach State Parks.

A 3-week trip on the lower Columbia River and Pacific Coast. The last 2 stops were revisits to Nehalem Bay, and Fort Stevens State Parks, on the Oregon Coast. We had fallen in love with the small Oregon beach town of Manzanita (on Nehalem Bay) on our previous trip.

A short week with Alyson, near Astoria, Oregon, including another revisit to (but not stay at) Fort Stevens State Park, and first visit together to Cannon Beach.

A 5-day trip to Nehalem Bay State Park, just hanging out and visiting nearby Manzanita, OR

A 2+ week trip on the Oregon Coast, starting the farthest south we’ve camped, at Cape Blanco State Park, then revisits to South Beach and Nehalem Bay State Parks. Visits to many new sites, and lots of Lighthouses…most of the Lighthouses on the Oregon Coast, actually.

A short trip to the NW coast, last week spent revisiting Fort Stevens State Park in Oregon.

A short, spring warm-up trip to the Oregon Coast, including 2 new-to-us State Park Campgrounds, Umqua Lighthouse and Washburne Memorial State Parks, and a 5th visit to Nehalem Bay State Park.
