Third time camping at Pocahontas State Park

Over a 4-night stay, we mostly just hung out in the park (southwest of Richmond), enjoying the beautiful weather and the change of the seasons, doing a little hiking (saw a beaver!), and leisurely doing some chores. Unfortunately, while greasing The Brute, Mark discovered an oil leak. So, he spent a morning at a nearby Chevrolet dealer getting that rectified. We did have dinner with RSE friends John-G and Ann, northwest of Richmond last night. These are the friends who recommended John Hall Alaska Tours to us. Now we have recommendations for touring Italy!
Note: NO Re-Visit to one of our favorite National Park Sites:
- Richmond National Battlefield Park (#30), which we’ve visited 4 times, for 12 days, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2023. Alas, Alack, not this time, due to the government shutdown. To reminisce…Richmond NBP.
Off for Raleigh, NC
With a short visit to the Pocahontas State Park Visitor Center and CCC Museum, on the way out. They are only open Friday through Sunday, and we still hadn’t visited them in 2 previous stays. Raleigh is only a couple of hours away, so we have time.
