MY, HOW TIME FLIES!
It’s been 9 months, since we’ve updated “Where are we now?” We’d just returned from ~3 week Trip to the Oregon Coast, and were home until we flew to the Northeast for a week the end of May. Fast trip! We spent a couple of days in NJ, visiting with Mark’s children and meeting his new Grandchildren! Then we spent a few days a few days in MA with Gail’s family for her Dad’s Memorial Service.
We did do a bit more traveling after that, previously posted: Columbia Gorge Family Vacation, in June, NW National Parks with Company, in July, and NW Coast Reprise, in September. In addition, Mark took a 4 day salmon fishing trip to Port Alberni, British Columbia with a buddy in early September. They fished their (and their guide’s) limit of King Salmon for 2 days, and came back with 12 Kings and 1 Coho.
While home most of 2021, we did make some more progress down-sizing, got a new furnace and our first A/C installed (JUST in time for that 110o+ Heat Wave in June), finished the rebuild/expansion of the patio under our back deck, including a tool shed (big enough to store Gail’s daughter in), and got a new dishwasher!
We also had some elective medical procedures, while we were going to be home for awhile, anyway. Gail’s were all small (e.g. cataracts). Mark’s one included a 6 day hospital stay and a 2 month recovery, during which he grew a beard. Thank goodness he was taken off restrictions December 17, as Gail broke her wrist while we were ice skating on December 16! So she had more more (officially elective) surgery, to put a plate in her wrist for a better/speedier recovery. But it will still be…6+ months of OT to get back to 90%? Here we are on Christmas, Gail in her splint and Mark with his beard.
SO, 2022!?!?! Regardless of Covid, we won’t be taking any long trips for at least 6 months, while Gail gets her wrist back in shape. Maybe a revisit to the Oregon Coast for a few weeks in March/April. And we hope?/plan? to visit the Northeast sometime over the late spring to late summer…hopefully in Lizzy.
