Overview

Our warm-up trip for 2022 began with an overnight in Corvallis, where we didn’t even unhitch, but we did de-winterize Lizzy. Then two weeks on the Oregon Coast, mostly visiting the Central area, at 2 new-to-us Oregon State Campgrounds. First one, was Umpqua Lighthouse SP, about midway in the Oregon Dunes. Then a bit north of the Dunes, between Heceta Head and Cape Perpetua, which we wanted to visit again, we stayed at Washburne Memorial SP. We finished with 4 nights near Manzanita, one of our favorite Oregon coastal towns.

We mostly hung out and went on walks/hikes (~42 miles) in the 3 parks we camped at, as well as Shore Acres SP, Cape Arago SP, Heceta Head and Cape Perpetua. We also , visited Pacific Oregon Sea Lion Caves! As for this being a “Warm-Up Trip”, we found a possible issue with our water pump the first week out. Also, it also turned out to be a Warm-Up for Gail’s Hiking Legs/Knees, as we walked/hiked over 40 miles, and at least 1,500′ elevation gain, over the 2 weeks!

Glad you got out and warmed up for the heat ahead. Love the Oregon Coast. Their state parks are the best!

Planning 7 weeks in June and most of July, in a loop to Denver and back. Going out via northern Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, and returning via Utah and Southern Idaho.
