Overview

Our first big vacation together, we spent 2 weeks in Hawaii, in between our 50th Birthdays (in July & November).

We spent most of our time on the Big Island: 8 nights at Kailua-Kona really “vacating”, 2 nights on the Rim of Kilauea Volcano, 1 night in Hilo, 1 last night in Kailua-Kona. We spent our last 2 days on Oahu, mostly to visit Pearl Harbor. First time in Hawaii for both of us.

Highlights

We “just hung out”, did a little hiking, visited a few different beaches, went to a Luau at Kona Village Resort, snorkeled with fishes in Kealakekua Bay, drove to the top of Mauna Kea, and

• Hawai’i Historic Parks (for 2 Sites)
  • Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site (#8)
  • Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park (#9)
• Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park (#10)
• Pearl Harbor National Memorial (#11)
