Before we left for 3+ weeks at home in Bellevue
As predicted, we had a busy 4 days in Western Pennsylvania at the beginning of May…camping in Washington (“Little Washington”) for 2 days. Mark visited with brother Dave, and we cleaned out Lizzy and took her to Monongahela to store her for a month. Then 2 days in Belle Vernon, visiting Dave, Joy & Alexis, checking out the new Donora Historical Signs near the site of Uncle Pete’s Texaco Station, attending Mark’s (belated) 50th HS Reunion, and visiting brother Dan on the way to the airport.
Back again, with Lizzy
Back to Pittsburgh yesterday, Dave & Joy picked us up, and after dinner, we discovered The Beast had Dead Batteries!!! (They were 6 years old.) So we borrowed Dave’s van to get to the hotel and then get new batteries this morning. Mark and Dave got them installed (more brother bonding time), and we finally picked up Lizzy from storage and got set up in Ruffs Dale. Sleeping in our own bed tonight!
Hanging out here 6 more nights
Time for Lizzy Spring Prep. Visiting friends and family for a few days. Then 8 days/2 stops across Pennsylvania, before we get to New Jersey!

New batteries? Is the beast a 24V system?

No, but it needs 2 batteries to generate enough current to power the glow plugs & turn the engine over. The compression ratio is 16:1.
