Yep! Another exciting weather event!

Hurricane Lee, now Post Tropical Cyclone Lee, has passed by us. Started raining about midnight and we expect it won’t stop until sometime this evening. Ditto for the wind, which are not the worst we’ve experienced. (Dust storms in Alamogordo, NM and Amarillo, TX rocked Lizzy MUCH more.)

We were supposed to be moving to Lubec, ME, about 90 miles NE of here, today. Lee was supposed to get closer to Lubec than Bar Harbor, so we chose to sit out the storm here. Who wants to drive and set up in a storm, anyway?!?

What did we do around Bar Harbor, beside watch Lee’s progress?

Since we arrived last Sunday, we’ve eaten lobster about every-other-night, taken 4 trips to visit Acadia National Park (#17-revisited), and just hung out some, given the weather. Yesterday, Calm Before the Storm, was actually the best day. Great Sunsets from camp the last 2 nights!

Visits to Acacia National Park
  • Monday-drive to/around Schoodic Peninsula and a short hike on Sundew Trail
  • Wednesday-Loop Drive Bus, hike most of the Ocean Path Trail and up and over Gorham Mountain
  • Thursday-hike Carriage Roads from Bubble Pond around Eagle Lake
  • Friday-hike Northridge Trail up-n-back to Cadillac Mountain
Off tomorrow (we assume) for Lubec
