10 Nights in Titusville-time with Aunt Carolyn and Cousins!

Last time we saw Gail’s Aunt Carolyn (and 2 of her 3 cousins) was on our 2018 Georgia-Florida Winter Trip, when we camped in Carolyn’s back yard! This time we camped 24 miles north, but still had lots of visits with Auntie, 3 cousins & their spouses, some younger generation cousins, and even had a nice visit with Frank, a childhood friend of Gail’s.

  • Christmas Eve:
    • An afternoon of visiting and baking pies at Aunt Carolyn’s
    • An evening out for Italian dinner in Cocoa Beach with “everybody”.
  • Christmas: Brunch/dinner & presents with “everybody” and more!…LOVERLY!!!
  • Lazy Thursday: Just hanging out at Aunt Carolyn’s, Zooming with cousin Lee Ann
  • Friday:
    • Lunch with Frank & Donna in Cocoa Beach
    • Pizza at Carolyn’s with extended family visiting, some from Bogota.
  • Lazy Saturday: Just another hangout day at Aunt Carolyn’s
  • New Year’s Eve: Football & dinner at Cousin Lee & Cherie’s
  • New Year’s Day: New Years Day Dinner with all the cousins at Aunt Carolyn’s

Tuesday & Wednesday, the only days that we did not visit anyone at all:

  • We got the oil leak fixed in The Beast. Yes, it really was a leak, after all. It was not low oil due to insufficient oil added at our last oil change, but a defective oil filter.
  • We finally got the new refrigerator we ordered installed in Lizzy.
  • We got in our last new National Park Site visit of 2023!

Cape Canaveral National Seashore (#230), where we visited the the Apollo Beach area while the fridge was being installed in Lizzy, and the Playalinda Beach area and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge on New Year’s Eve day, before dinner with Lee & Cherie.

And a Space Launch!

Driving back to camp on December 29, we saw a Space Launch live from Kennedy Space Center! As it approached launch time at 8:07 PM, we pulled over on Route 1, with many other folks, to watch the launch over the water, with a full moon. It was awesome! AND…it just happened to be a launch, aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy Rocket, of the X-37B space plane built by Boeing! It’s the seventh flight of an X-37B, which has logged more than 10 years in orbit since 2010, on another secretive mission that’s expected to last at least a couple of years.

Off for Lake Okeechobee tomorrow!

how wonderful to be able to see your family. This must be your Mom’s side. Glad your “wheels” are all fixed and you are having the time of your life!
Happy New Year!
