Lots of Family Time!

Mark and Shane

From New Holland, we got to visit Gail’s cousin Lee Ann a couple of times, just before her birthday, so it included 2 birthday dinners, one at her house with friends, and one a cookout in camp, when she came to meet Lizzy.

Then we got to the Jersey Shore and got to meet Shane, Mark’s newest (6 weeks old) grandchild (and see the rest of the family, of course.)

Camping in New Holland

In addition to visiting with Lee Ann, we got to enjoy the campground views of Amish Farmlands and one beautiful sunset (may have been more, but only up early for one), Mark had breakfast with an RSE friend, we did a little touring, and…the day we left…we experienced our first Tornado Warning (and 45 minute delay in leaving)!

We visited 1 new National Park Site: Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site (#205), which showcases an early American “iron plantations”, which was in operations from 1771-1883. It helped lay the foundation for the transformation of the United States into an industrial giant for the time. It abuts beautiful French Creek State Park, with miles of trails.

We visited Longwood Gardens for a morning & early afternoon. It was AMAZING! Only a small sample here. Later same day, we joined Lee Ann at Brandywine River Museum, to see multiple generations of Wyeth paintings, and sit on a pig!

A couple more days in New Jersey (before returning for much longer visit in July) and then…

Off for Philadelphia-Annapolis-Dover 10-Day Road Trip on Tuesday!

…after we take Lizzy in to Colonial Airstream for a “checkup” and a few minor repairs. It’s been 5 years/24K tow-miles, since her 1-year Checkup.
